6 ‘Dancing with the Stars Couples’ Who Are Still Together

Dancing with the Stars has given people more than just Mirrorball Trophies — it’s also been the start of many love stories and families.
There have been plenty of Dancing with the Stars showmances since the reality competition show first aired in 2005 — but not all of them have lasted. Twenty years and 34 seasons later, six couples remain together today.
While some have recently confirmed their romances, including pros Emma Slater and Alan Bersten, others have been together for years and started families together, including former pro Kym Johnson and her season 20 partner, Robert Herjavec.
Although competing against each other can make for some friendly rivalry, many of the couples have opened up about the joys of sharing the experience together, including current pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson, who found love after meeting in the ballroom in 2014.
“From my perspective, being next to this person who’s committed herself to this project for so many seasons, so long, and even this season in particular, for her to finally be rewarded for her work meant a lot to me,” he said of Johnson’s season 33 win with Joey Graziadei. “It was probably one of the best moments of my experience on Dancing with the Stars, watching her win.”
Below, here are six Dancing with the Stars couples who are still together.

Britt Stewart found love in the ballroom with her season 31 partner, CODA actor Daniel Durant.
“When I met him and found out he was my partner on Dancing with the Stars, immediately I was like, I must learn ASL because I’m teaching him how to dance,” Stewart told PEOPLE in December 2023 after getting engaged to Durant, who is Deaf. “I’m not going to use his interpreter.”
Stewart and Durant tied the knot on Aug. 23, 2025, in California.
“I love Britt’s soul the most, that she is a strong leader and her sense of humor. If I fall, I know she will be the first to catch me,” Durant told PEOPLE following their nuptials. “I just can’t wait to call Britt my wife … I want to show off that I’m all Britt’s!”
Stewart added, “I am the yin to his yang. … My soul has been waiting for his!”
Jenna Johnson & Val Chmerkovskiy

Pros Johnson and Chmerkovskiy met in 2014, when the So You Think You Can Dance alum joined Dancing with the Stars as a troupe member.
The pair had an on-again, off-again relationship for years, until they got engaged in June 2018 in Italy. At the time, Chmerkovskiy told PEOPLE that his “life has changed” because of Johnson.
“I find myself to be the best version of myself that I’ve ever been,” he said. “She’s awesome.”
They got married in April 2019 — with many of their fellow Dancing with the Stars pros in attendance — and welcomed their son, Rome Valentine, on Jan. 10, 2023.

Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov found love long before they entered the Dancing with the Stars ballroom. The pair became dance partners in 2009 and traveled the world competing in competitions, even winning the esteemed Professional Rising Star Latin Champions at the Blackpool Competition.
After getting engaged on Jan. 1, 2013, they tied the knot on July 18, 2014, in New Jersey. Four years later, they were both cast on Dancing with the Stars — Karagach as a troupe member and Pashkov as a pro.
The couple became parents on May 30, 2023, when they welcomed their first child, daughter Nikita Sofia.
Although they continue to compete against each other on the show (and even made the finale for the first time together in season 23 with their respective partners), Karagach told PEOPLE in 2023 that it’s the “best experience” to make it that far in the competition alongside each other.
More recently, she opened up to PEOPLE in June 2025 about how they support each other, saying, “Pasha helps me with my choreography all the time, and vice versa. If we ever need anything, always the first person I would ask is Pash, or vice versa.”

Slater, who split from ex-husband and former pro Sasha Farber in 2022, confirmed her relationship with pro Bersten in April 2025 with an on-stage hard launch.
After months of speculation, Slater and Bersten revealed their romance was more than just dance chemistry during the final DWTS: Live! show, when they paused mid-routine to share a kiss.
More recently, Slater wished her boyfriend luck for the Dancing with the Stars season 34 finale, in which he’d be dancing with Parent Trap actress Elaine Hendrix.
“My boyfriend is a finalist. Again. 🥹🥹🥹🥹,” she wrote on Instagram alongside a series of affectionate photos from the Semi-Finals in November 2025.
She continued, “What a pure champion. I’m so proud of you @alanbersten.”

Former pros Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy first met on Broadway in 2009, when they were performing in the production of Burn the Floor.
When they later found themselves as pros on Dancing with the Stars together (Maksim had been on the show since 2006), their relationship turned romantic in 2012.
The pair had a brief breakup, though eventually reunited and got engaged during an episode of Dancing with the Stars in December 2015.
They welcomed their first child — son Shai Aleksander — in January 2017 and quietly wed that July. Their family has since expanded as they’ve welcomed two more sons: Rio John, born in June 2023, followed by Milan Maksim in July 2024.

Retired pro Johnson found love in the ballroom with her partner, businessman and investor Herjavec. After the pro dancer left the competition show, she and Herjavec wed in August 2016 and welcomed twins Haven and Hudson a little less than two years later.
“I’ve got so much to thank Dancing with the Stars for,” Johnson told PEOPLE in March 2024. “I ended up meeting my husband on the show. So, thank you!”
Reflecting on the family they’ve created, Johnson said she “couldn’t be happier.”
“I have to pinch myself. It’s truly magical,” she continued.
