Krispy Kreme Releases Charlie Brown-Inspired Donuts

The Peanuts crew is taking over Krispy Kreme this holiday season.

The bakery chain is rolling out three new doughnuts on Saturday, Nov. 29, and they are inspired by the beloved comic strip. The Krispy Kreme x Peanuts Collection includes Snoopy Cookies & Kreme Doughnut, Charlie Brown Ornament Doughnut, Christmas Wreath Doughnut and two returning treats — Santa Belly Doughnut and Holiday Sprinkle Doughnut. 

The first newbie is one of a few filled sweets in this limited-time pack. The Snoopy-shaped doughnut has cookies and cream-flavored filling and is decorated with frosting to make the fan-favorite character’s face.

The Charlie Brown Ornament Doughnut takes a less literal approach to the character in its decorations. A round doughnut is filled with brownie batter-filling before being dipped in yellow frosting and drizzled with a chocolate zig-zag. The final look appears like the titular character’s shirt that he wears in most Charles M. Schulz’s comic strips and animated specials.

The Christmas Wreath Doughnut rounds out the Peanuts treats. An Original Glazed doughnut gets a layer of green buttercream and yellow sprinkles to resemble a festive decoration. It is topped with a bow-shaped candy with Snoopy and Woodstock’s image on it.

To round out the rest of the festive bundles (which are available in 6- and 12-packs), fans get the returning Santa Belly Doughnut and Holiday Sprinkle Doughnut. The former is a filled doughnut dipped in red frosting and decorated with chocolate buttercream to make Santa’s belt. The latter is an Original Glazed doughnut dipped in chocolate frosting and topped with sprinkles.

The Krispy Kreme x Peanuts Collection will be around through Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24.

On top of the cartoonish treats, Krispy Kreme recently introduced nine new flavors, six of which are permanent menu items, on Nov. 3.

The new flavors are: Maple Iced, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Pumpkin Spice Cake, Original Glazed Kreme Filled, Oreo Cookies & Kreme, Biscoff Cookie Butter Kreme, Cinnamon Apple Filled, New York Cheesecake and Original Glazed Cake.

The introduction of new baked goods means that a few Krispy Kreme classics are leaving. Fans are saying goodbye to the Original Glazed Blueberry Cake, Original Glazed Lemon Filled and Cake Batter doughnuts, though Krispy Kreme noted that these flavors could return down the line.
