Hunter Fieri‘s grandma made his wedding to Tara Bernstein both memorable and entertaining.
Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, Bernstein took a trip down memory lane by sharing a video from her wedding, showing Penelope Ferry, the mother of Hunter’s father, Guy Fieri, having a bit of a technical difficulty as she made her way down the aisle.
“Heading into Thanksgiving weekend remembering that my husband’s grandma (Mimi) threw the flower girl basket into the water on our wedding day,” the professional pickleball player captioned a Wednesday, Nov. 26 Instagram Reel.

The clip showed Ferry being escorted during the ceremony, smiling as she tossed petals while seated guests applauded.
While throwing the flowers out, the family matriarch also sent the basket flying into the water as she got closer to the altar.
Hunter, 29, had already been clapping for Ferry, but briefly broke into laughter after he saw the mishap.
“Honestly, it’s one of our favorite memories now,” Bernstein concluded, adding a laughing emoji along with a single red heart and a turkey.
Hunter and Bernstein tied the knot on Aug. 30 at the Fieri family ranch, HuntRyde Ranch, in Sonoma, Calif. They previously shared footage of how they asked Ferry to be their flower girl.
In a June 7 joint Instagram video, the athlete and content creator admitted she was “a little bit nervous” because she and her then-fiancé were planning to ask Ferry the big question at a dinner later that evening.
“We have this cute little card for her and some flowers ready, so let’s see what she says,” Bernstein added in the selfie style video before it transitioned to the make-or-break moment.
“Oh, that’s so sweet. These are gorgeous,” Ferry said while reading the card before jokingly asking, “Am I going to be the flower girl?”
Bernstein’s eyes grew wider when she heard the question, but she quickly went back to her poker face — though Ferry was too focused on the card to realize.

The grandmother then saw that she was indeed being asked to be the flower girl.
“What?! What?!” Ferry said. “Are you f—ing kidding me? Oh my God. What?! That is hysterical. It’s really blowing me away. I can’t believe this.”
Through the laughter and celebration, Bernstein eventually asked if the reaction was a yes.

“Of course! Are you kidding me? Thank you, guys. Oh my God. I am thrilled,” Ferry said, getting up from the table to hug Hunter.
The eldest son of Food Network star, 57, told PEOPLE that his wedding to Bernstein was “controlled chaos,” jokingly adding, “Like a mini Stagecoach.”
