Bill Belichick ducks Jordon Hudson ‘distraction’ question about lawsuit

Bill Belichick is on to NC State.

That’s the message the UNC football coach delivered this week when he skirted a question about a wild string of headlines centered on his personal life, namely 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson and her threat of a lawsuit against Pablo Torre.

“I know you can’t control what people write about you or say about you or talk about, but right before the Duke game, there was a big story in the New York Post. And right before this game, there was a story with Jordon Hudson possibly filing a lawsuit against Pablo [Torre]. How much do those distractions seep down into the team, and how much time do they take from what you’re trying to accomplish? Is there a way, in your mind, to try to eliminate some of that drama?” the reporter asked during the media session, according to Awful Announcing.

Unsurprisingly, Belichick didn’t give much beyond the Tar Heels’ next 60 minutes of football in his response.

“Yeah, I’m just focused on the game, that’s what our team is focused on,” the 73-year-old coach said.

Belichick, set to wrap his first season coaching at the collegiate level Saturday at NC State, has been the focal point of the news cycle over the last few days amid his highly publicized romance with Hudson.

On Friday, one day before UNC fell to rival Duke, 32-25, The Post exclusively reported that Belichick’s daughter-in-law reamed Hudson out in a lengthy postgame tirade this month.

Hudson, who attended Saturday’s game in Chapel Hill, later set her sights on Torre, whose investigations into the former college cheerleader have gone viral over the past year.

“P.S. I’m suing you @pstorre,” she wrote Sunday in an Instagram post.

Torre, the host of “Pablo Torre Finds Out,” responded on X, with a messy back-and-forth ensuing between the pair afterward.

Even with UNC’s season coming to a close Saturday, talk of Belichick will likely remain with the NFL coaching cycle revving up.

“At least two NFL teams” are anticipated to have interest in the eight-time Super Bowl winner, who coached the Patriots to six championship wins across 24 seasons, NFL insider Josina Anderson reported Tuesday.

Belichick has remained steadfast in his commitment to the Tar Heels, recently pushing back on chatter surrounding the Giants’ vacancy after Brian Daboll’s firing.

“I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families,” said Belichick, who won two Super Bowls as the Giants’ defensive coordinator. “The New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey. It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells’ staff for over a decade. However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies.”
