The first two episodes of the highly anticipated series that has social media ablaze are now streaming stateside on HBO Max — a streaming service which happens to have a pretty excellent Black Friday deal going on right now.
Heated Rivalry is based on the #BookTok-loved romance novel of the same name by Rachel Reid and it’s not the only hockey romance novel getting a TV show adaptation (hello, Prime Video’s Off Campus!), just the first one to actually make it to the screen.
The steamy romance series follows two of the best players in the fictional MHL who are drafted on the same day and have careers that are inextricably tied together. Shane (Hudson Williams) and Ilya (Connor Storrie) are captains of rival teams on the ice, but something altogether different off the ice as they try to navigate a relationship away from the eyes of the fans, reporters, family, and their teammates.
