Jacob LaGrone, who is known for his viral 2023 Parisian nuptials — dubbed the “wedding of the century” — will go to trial early next year.
The trial for the groom, who faces felony charges for allegedly shooting a firearm at three North Texas police officers in March 2023, according to news outlets has been set for Jan. 8, 2026, according to court records obtained by WFAA.
The Tarrant County District Attorney did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for confirmation on the trial date.
In LaGrone’s indictment, obtained by The Washington Post, the police claim that they responded to multiple calls about a gun being discharged in a private home. When they arrived, they were reportedly “fired upon” by LaGrone.

The officers claimed that LaGrone “did intentionally and knowingly threaten imminent bodily injury” to the officers and “did use or exhibit a deadly weapon during the commission of the assault, namely, a firearm.”
He was reportedly arrested and indicted on three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant, which is a first-degree felony in Texas, and was released on a $20,000 bond. He made his first appearance in court on Nov. 30, 2023 — two weeks after his Parisian nuptials — for a motion hearing related to the charges.

If convicted, LaGrone faces up to 99 years in prison, though documents obtained by The Dallas Morning News showed that he was offered a plea deal of 25 years by the Tarrant County District Attorney.
LaGrone wed Madelaine Brockway, a car dealership heiress via her father Bob Brockway, in a lavish five-day wedding ceremony held at several Parisian landmarks including, including a sleepover at the Palace of Versailles, a private lunch at the Chanel Haute Couture Suite and a rehearsal dinner at the Paris Opera House.
The pair, whose wedding reportedly cost a staggering $59 million, said “I do” at Chateau de Villette, a castle 40 minutes outside of Paris, and kicked off their reception with a performance from Maroon 5.
Following LaGrone’s arrest, his wife stopped posting on TikTok and stepped away from Instagram for about six months, before sharing photos of her and her husband traveling again in the summer of 2024.
