People Magazine Investigates Announces 9th Season

People Magazine Investigates will return for its most shocking season yet with 12 new episodes beginning next month, including episodes looking into the 1972 murder of Jody Loomis and the 2017 murder of celebrity hairstylist Fabio Sementilli.
The ninth season of the true crime series debuts on Monday, Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. ET on Investigation Discovery and will continue airing episodes weekly throughout April.
The newest season of People Magazine Investigates “will continue to take a closer look at true crime stories that made headlines across the country, including a brutal slaying of a celebrity hairstylist, a house fire revealing a murder, a 54-year-old man found dead in a bondage-style setup inside his secret sex den, a high-school romance turned deadly, and other chilling cases,” Investigation Discovery said in a news release Friday announcing the upcoming season.

The episodes will “examine true crime cases from across the country utilizing original and new reporting from PEOPLE’s award-winning true crime team, including exclusive interviews with those impacted by the case, to reveal the hidden secrets, shocking betrayals, and unexpected twists, and to continue shining light on the lives that were changed,” the network added.
The season premiere on Jan. 12 will focus on the death of 52-year-old Dee Warner, who vanished from her rural Michigan home in late April 2021. The episode, titled “Vanished in the Heartland” will follow the missing persons investigation as “questions and accusations fly” after the savvy entrepreneur and mother of five first vanishes and “authorities struggle for answers.”
That is, “until one day [police] find her body, closer to home than anyone could have imagined,” according to Investigation Discovery.

The series, which is produced by Radley Studios and PEOPLE Magazine, will examine headline cases spanning the country – from Loomis’ 1972 murder in Washington state to the 2022 slaying of up-and-coming 25-year-old cyclist Mo Wilson, who was shot and killed in an execution style murder in Austin, Texas.
The new trailer promises People Magazine Investigates will take its “closest look at the truth” yet during its ninth season, pursuing “every lead” and “unearthing every secret” behind each twisting and turning case.
People Magazine Investigates will air Monday nights at 9 p.m. ET on Investigation Discovery, culminating with its dramatic season finale, “Where Is Jenny?” which examines a serial predator haunting Florida’s Gulf Coast on April 13.
