A Pennsylvania teen is accused of shooting his parents — resulting in the death of his mother — just one day after Christmas.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting involving two victims at a home located on Garrison Road in Freeport Township at around 1:58 p.m. local time on Friday, Dec. 26, per a release from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP). When they arrived at the home, they found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital in nearby Morgantown, W.V., where she later died.

Police also located an adult male victim with a gunshot wound at the home. The man was transported to the same hospital as the woman, and later released in “stable condition,” per the PSP.

An investigation determined that the two victims were husband and wife. The alleged shooter was identified by the PSP as Jarrod Noll, 18, the couple’s son.

Following the shooting incident, Noll fled on foot. “An extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted; however, the suspect was not located at that time,” the PSP said.

The PSP launched a manhunt, warning that the suspect “may be armed and dangerous.” The department added, “The public is advised not to approach the suspect if seen.”

In an update shared on X at 6:01 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27, the PSP said Noll had been taken into custody by the West Virginia State Police “without incident.”

“We used tracking dogs, we used helicopters, and we used police on foot searching rough terrain,” PSP Sergeant Richard Sizer said of the manhunt, per CBS News.

“Obviously, when you have someone on the run with a homicide warrant, on the run with a gun, it is a huge danger to the community,” Sizer added.

The PSP said Noll’s younger siblings were home when the shooting took place, but the shooting itself occurred outside the home, per CBS News. The siblings are now in the custody of a family member.

Noll is being held in police custody in West Virginia until he’s extradited to Pennsylvania. He has been charged with homicide and attempted homicide, according to the outlet.
