Kenny Pickett gets in middle of Geno Smith’s heated Raiders sideline moment

It was a Thursday night mess for Las Vegas.

The Raiders were getting into heated arguments on the sideline during one of the worst offensive performances we’ve seen all season in a 10-7 road loss to the Broncos.

During with just over six minutes remaining in the second quarter and the Raiders leading, 7-0, quarterback Geno Smith took one of six sacks — with this one on fourth down in Broncos territory — and he was furious with backup running back Raheem Mostert.

Smith was seen screaming at Mostert after the veteran QB was lit up by blitzing safety Talanoa Hufanga, who came off the edge as Mostert completely whiffed on the block.

Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett appeared to be the one to play peacekeeper on the sideline as things nearly unraveled for Las Vegas.

The backup quarterback jumped between Mostert and Smith as tensions rose before calming down.

Pickett later entered the game as Smith battled an injury, throwing an incompletion on his only pass attempt.

Smith and Mostert eventually squashed the issue, though that didn’t do much good for the flailing offense.

Las Vegas did not score again, including a missed field goal in the fourth quarter, as the Broncos held on in the ugly game to improve to 8-2.

Smith confirmed following the game that he was injured after he took five first-half sacks.

“Obviously, I just played a game, so I’m not feeling the best, but I’ll be better as the days go along, hopefully,” Smith told reporters postgame, adding that he suffered a quad contusion.

“In order to be a good team, you’ve got to play clean. … You can’t have missed assignments. You can’t have penalties. You can’t have penalties negate big plays. Can’t have turnovers. Those are the things that hurt teams.”

The 2-7 Raiders now have 10 days to prepare for the Dallas Cowboys on “Monday Night Football” on Nov. 17.
