Cat wriggles free on Thanksgiving Southwest Airlines flight

You are now free to roam about the cat-bin.
One furry flyer’s premature bid for freedom put a smile on a plane full of Thanksgiving travelers’ faces when it escaped his carrier and started wandering the aisles.
Amid the commotion on board, the frisky feline was briskly scooped into the arms of a Southwest Airlines flight attendant who made him an impromptu part of the pre-takeoff safety demonstration.
The docile kitty looked slightly confused but appeared perfectly at ease as the crew member gently pet him, smiling broadly while strolling down the aisle looking for its owner, much to the amusement of passengers who could be heard snickering in video shared on social media.
After a few walks up and down the cabin, the owner realized it was their cat and they were reunited, the kitty placed safely back in its carrier for the holiday flight.
Passenger Jason Thompson filmed the unusual encounter on one of the busiest travel days of the year, sharing it on Instagram to the delight of cat-loving commenters.
“It’s like the cat is checking tray tables in preparation for arrival,” one Instagram user joked.
“Cat behaves better than many people on planes these days,” mused another.
“Why does this never happen on my flights?” said another commenter.
Southwest Airlines allows passengers to bring a cat aboard domestic flights for $125 each way, provided the four-legged companion is at least eight weeks old and can fit in an airline-approved carrier that can fit under the seat of the ticket-holder.
Most flights with kitties on board go off without a hitch, but occasional cat-astrophes are known to happen.
Last December, a woman claimed she was booted from a Southwest Airlines flight to Los Angeles after her seven-month-old kitten, named Oni, pooped in its carrier after being startled during a rough landing.
After she raised a stink, the airline provided her with a $200 travel voucher and she was booked on another flight with a connection after a lengthy layover in an unspecified city.
