Child Finds Out Dad’s New Wife Is the ‘Mystery Woman’ Who Broke Up Parents

A Redditor was left stunned after finding out that their dad’s new wife was the “mystery woman” who broke up their parents’ marriage.

In the post, they explained that their parents “divorced 8 years ago, my dad swore there wasn’t anyone else, that he and my mom had ‘just grown apart.'”

However, during a recent family BBQ, the truth came out.

“One of my dad’s old coworkers pulled me aside and said, ‘So crazy he finally married her after all those years sneaking around.’ I asked what she meant. She said, ‘You know… that woman,'” they recalled.

“It hit me like a train. His new wife, the one who’s been ‘family’ for three years, was the affair partner,” they wrote.

According to the poster, their mom had “always suspected” their father was seeing someone else,
“but never had proof.”

“I confronted my dad and he said, ‘That was a lifetime ago. Let it go.’ But I can’t look at either of them the same now,” they concluded.

People in the comments were supportive of the poster, pointing out that it was unfair for the dad to bring his child into the drama.

“Parents forget that the lies they tell each other eventually land on their kids. You didn’t dig up the past, you were living in it all along,” one person wrote.

The audacity of asking you to move past something he never even gave you the chance to process honestly in the first place.”
