Dems’ role in DC National Guard shooting: Letters

The Issue: The shooting of two National Guard troops in DC, leaving Specialist Sarah Beckstrom dead.
It’s the definition of insanity to think that the shooting of two National Guard members will prompt Democrats to alter their rhetoric of encouraging criminal acts against federal agencies (“Democrat cry against guard,” Nov. 27).
That was demonstrably evident when six so-called statesmen and -women called for an insurrection by our armed forces. Democrats have decided to up the ante every day of President Trump’s term.

When former Mayor Bill de Blasio accused the NYPD of systemic racism 11 years ago, after a grand jury voted not to indict an officer in the death of a suspect who was being placed in custody, he inspired a deranged gunman to execute two officers.
Similarly, Dems today are labeling Trump’s use of the National Guard as an invasion of their cities. Whether this inspired the shooter in DC is yet to be determined, but with all the nuts we have in this country, it is inexcusable for politicians to spew this rhetoric.

Congressional Democrats may not have pulled the trigger on the gun that murdered 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom, but they all lit the fuse that killed her.
It’s time for them to settle down and focus their hatred on our enemies, not on Trump, who was elected overwhelmingly by citizens of this country.

By implying that our law enforcement’s orders are illegal, Democrats energize their far-left fringe to attack.
Let’s see how courageous the Democrats are to tamp down their rhetoric and speak out against situations like the one in DC this week.

It’s no wonder service members are attacked when Democrats and the left-leaning news continue to vilify them.
The left’s vitriol caused the two assassination attempts on Trump as well as Charlie Kirk’s assassination. As far as I’m concerned, the left is just as responsible for these attacks, alongside the one on two National Guards, as the shooters. They put out the hate and let others do the dirty work.

Rahmanullah Lakanwal deserves the worst punishment allowed by law.
Unfortunately, there will most likely be a whole cadre of liberal lawyers who take his case, say it was the CIA or Trump’s fault and find a judge who’ll send him to Guantánamo. There, he can live the good life while Beckstrom’s family mourns the rest of theirs.

The Issue: Miranda Devine calls for liberal judges to be held accountable for releasing career criminals.
What a brilliant article by Miranda Devine, calling for liberal judges to face justice (“It’s high time for judges to face justice,” Nov. 24).
Judges have freed criminals charged with the worst possible offenses, yet they face no consequences for their rulings.
The American people deserve justice and judges need to be held accountable.

Three months ago, a young woman was savagely murdered on public transit in Charlotte, NC. Earlier this month, another young woman riding a Chicago L train was splashed with gas and set alight.
The perpetrators in each case should’ve been behind bars and off the street but were not, thanks to judicial decisions.
As Devine points out, “Cops and doctors are held liable for their mistakes. Judges would soon put public safety first if they faced any consequences for their reckless decisions.”
