Doctor gunned down alongside wife outside Simi Valley home in ‘targeted’ attack: cops

A long-time doctor and his wife were fatally gunned down Sunday afternoon outside their California home in what authorities believe was a “targeted” shooting, according to reports.

Dr. Eric Cordes and his spouse Vicki were found with gunshot wounds in the driveway of their Simi Valley home and later pronounced dead at the hospital, police said, according to ABC 7.

“Dr. Cordes was a highly respected, board-certified radiologist and beloved physician who served this community with compassion and excellence for nearly 30 years,” said Adventist Health Simi Valley in a statement, according to the station.

“Our hearts are with his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside him as we grieve this shocking loss.”

The Cordes’ home sits at the end of a well-manicured cul-de-sac in tony Simi Valley.

Authorities don’t believe the shooting was a random attack. No arrests have been made.

“We do believe the victims were targeted,” said Simi Valley Det. Rick Morton, per ABC 7.

The shooter got into a car and fled the scene, the outlet said.
