How Prince William reacted when asked about Prince Andrew’s stripped titles

He doesn’t want to talk about it.
Prince William dodged a question about his disgraced uncle, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, earlier this week after it was announced the former Duke of York would be stripped of his royal titles and evicted from his Royal Lodge residence.
The awkward exchange unfolded as William was in Brazil to attend the COP30 climate summit and announce the five finalists for his Earthshot Prize on Wednesday.
When CNN’s Christiane Amanpour noted that there’s been “a lot of change in your own family recently,” the Prince of Wales, 43, quickly guided the interview back to his annual award.
“I think the Earthshot Prize is a classic example of change,” William told Amanpour while in Rio de Janeiro. “Rather than talk about it, we’re doing it. That’s where I want it to be.”
“These people in here are the true action heroes of all time, and change will come by backing them, not by what I do,” he added. “I want to surround myself with people who want to make change and do good in the world.”
The Duke of Cambridge’s trip to Brazil this week marked his first major outing since King Charles, 76, officially stripped Andrew, 65, of his royal titles on Oct. 30.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace announced in a statement. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.”
“His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence,” it continued. “Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation.”
The decision was reportedly made because of Andrew’s association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and the ongoing controversy surrounding his ties to the scandal.
Andrew, meanwhile, had already announced he would no longer use his Duke of York title shortly before the release of Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s posthumous memoir last month.
Giuffre died by suicide at the age of 41 in April. She previously alleged that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell trafficked her to Andrew when she was only 17 years old. Andrew has repeatedly denied the claims.
“Their majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse,” the Palace concluded on behalf of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
As for William, he reportedly supported his father’s decision to strip Andrew of his royal titles and evict him from Royal Lodge.
Author Andrew Lownie, in his royal biography “The Rise and Fall of the Yorks,” claimed that the Prince of Wales has detested both Andrew and Andrew’s ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, due to a “rude” remark the ex-royal once made about Kate Middleton.
“He also loathes Sarah, Andrew’s ex-wife, and can’t wait for the day when his father throws them both out,” Lownie wrote. “If Charles doesn’t, I guarantee you the first thing William does when he eventually becomes king is to get them evicted.”
While both Andrew and Ferguson were stripped of their royal titles, the former couple’s daughters – Princess Beatrice, 37, and Princess Eugenie, 35 – were allowed to retain theirs amid the scandal.
Lownie went on to add that William wasn’t happy Andrew and Ferguson, 66, attended Katharine, Duchess of Kent’s funeral back in September.
“William, meanwhile, was ‘furious’ at being ambushed in this way, according to friends. He has been at pains to distance himself from his uncle and not be photographed with him,” the author claimed.
“He believes his father has not dealt with him with sufficient firmness and that Andrew – and Sarah Ferguson – have done much to undermine the good work of other members of the Royal Family,” Lownie concluded.
