How to Stream Billy Bob Thornton’s Drama

NEED TO KNOW
- Landman premiered on Paramount+ in November 2024, starring Billy Bob Thornton as an oil rig landman in West Texas
- The drama’s second season was released on the streamer a year later
- In October 2025, Landman co-creator Taylor Sheridan signed a film deal with NBCUniversal that will end his run with Paramount in 2028
Landman brought a host of new viewers to Paramount+, but Taylor Sheridan‘s reported exit from the streamer has fans concerned about the show’s future.
In October 2025 — weeks before the Western drama’s season 2 premiere — Puck reported that the writer and director had closed a deal with NBCUniversal. Though his eight-year commitment to film for the corporation will begin in 2026, his five-year TV contract won’t start until after his Paramount agreement wraps in 2028.
Though Sheridan hasn’t commented on the deal or what it means for his Paramount+ shows, Landman co-creator Christian Wallace assured there’s “a lot of runway left” for their series.
“I don’t think it’s affecting anything in the immediate,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in November 2025. “Right now, we’re just going to keep doing what we’ve been doing.”
Wallace added, “The thing is, I trust Taylor, and he cares deeply about his stories and the characters he’s written. We all put ourselves in his hands in this process. He’s the showrunner, he’s a writer. He’s the reason why we’re all here. So I’m just going to trust the process in all this, you know?”
Here’s everything to know about where to watch and stream Landman — and how Taylor Sheridan’s new deal may impact the show’s future.
Which streaming service is Landman available on?

Fans of Landman can stream the series on Paramount+. All 10 episodes of season 1 are available to watch, and new episodes of season 2 will drop every Sunday at 12 a.m. PT/3 a.m. ET until the finale on Jan. 18.
Sheridan has produced several successful series for Paramount since the network picked up Yellowstone in 2018. Though the hit Kevin Costner drama was sold to Peacock, Paramount built its streaming service, Paramount+, around prequel series like 1883 and Sheridan’s other projects.
The director’s currently streaming Paramount series include Landman, Mayor of Kingstown, Lioness and Tulsa King. Sheridan also has three Yellowstone spinoffs in the works: The Dutton Ranch (aka Beth & Rip) and The Madison for Paramount+ and Y: Marshals for CBS.

Considering that Paramount still owns the rights to shows Sheridan created for the platform and that he won’t be moving to NBCUniversal until 2029, this new deal is unlikely to affect Landman.
Though Paramount has not yet renewed Landman for a third season, Wallace told The Hollywood Reporter that he’s ready to “get back to it” as soon as they can.
“There are a lot of forces well beyond my control and pay grade that determine all that,” the co-creator said of future seasons. “But, I think it’s as long as Taylor wants. It’s well, well, beyond my pay grade, but as long as everyone’s still having fun and the story is continuing in a worthwhile way, then, sure, I’d love for it to go as long as the story permits.”
What has Billy Bob Thornton said about Landman’s future?

Like Wallace, the stars of Landman also voiced their trust in Sheridan and the show’s future — including Thornton.
“I think the shows that are at Paramount, stay at Paramount, so I don’t think those are affected,” the actor told The Hollywood Reporter in November 2025. “His deal is for the future. And who knows what that holds. Taylor is a brilliant guy, and I’m sure wherever he goes, whatever he does is gonna be successful, at least I know it’ll be real.”
Sam Elliott, who joined the series in season 2, echoed similar sentiments to the outlet: “It’s not gonna impact the future of this series because everything that Taylor had at Paramount is gonna stay at Paramount.”
He added, “It’s not like he’s taking it there. The Universal thing, as I understand, it’s a whole new deal, so it’s just great for Taylor’s world. I think it’s fantastic.”
