Mamdani’s people make demands — hate Israel and America, or we will end you

The election of socialist Zorhan Mamdani as mayor is unleashing a toxic sludge of unsavory characters poised to seize seats of prestige at City Hall.

These real powers behind the throne are putting the mayor-elect on notice: Toe the Jew-and America-hating line, or we’ll make life very difficult.

At Mamdani’s official swearing-in, set for just after midnight on New Year’s Day, it’s us in the cheap seats who are going to suffer hangovers. He said this would mark a new era of free stuff for everyone. Free buses. Free groceries. Free child care. More prostitutes.

Instead, we are already witnessing the rise of the glory age of Linda Sarsour.

The Brooklyn-bred Palestinian-descended rabble rouser is a mentor to the mayor-elect, credited with steering the Muslim vote in his direction. Now, she wants payback: Complete allegiance to her antisemitic, anti-Israel and despise-America agenda.

Sarsour, 45, was co-chair of the 2017 Women’s March on Washington to protest President Trump’s first term. She left that organization in 2019 after, among other outrages, excluding Jewish marchers from the hoopla, saying, “One cannot be a feminist and a Zionist at the same time.” She’s also publicly fantasized about removing the lady parts of political foes.

She denounces the United States, the country that gives her a voice, as a land of “genocide and slavery.”

Now, she’s threatening the positions of Mamdani and everyone who refuses to oppose Israel.

“You do the right thing, you keep your job,” the fire-breathing Jew-hater railed at the Somos conference last week. The event was titled  “Colonialism, Resistance and Solidarity: Puerto Rico and Palestine.”

“You don’t do the right thing, you don’t keep your job,” Sarsour vowed ominously, declaring that any Democrats who back Israel will be unceremoniously dumped from public life.

Appearing alongside Sarsour at the conference, her comrade Alexa Aviles, a Democratic Socialists of America member of the City Council, lobbed the enduring slander that Jews control the government, the media and everything else that matters.

She took aim at the pro-Israel lobbying group, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. “We see a Congress that is very much controlled by AIPAC, who’s controlling all the right-wing media and all the conservatives as well as a lot of corporate Democrats, maybe almost all of them,” Aviles spouted.

Sarsour has a long history of hurling threats and slurs at Jewish rivals and women who defy her noxious worldview. In 2011, she launched these vile tweets at two anti-Islamic women activists, Lebanese-American Brigitte Gabriel and Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali: “She’s asking for an ass whippin’,’’ she wrote about Ali.

“I wish I could take their vaginas away – they don’t deserve to be women,’’ she wrote.

The latter, disgusting message was all the more shocking and misogynistic because Ali is a victim of female genital mutilation.

Sarsour has never apologized. If anything, her ugliness has increased exponentially over the years.

As Mamdani has slithered up the political food chain, the company he keeps has grown increasingly radical. The supposed fighter for the people, protector of the oppressed and ignored, appeared, smiling, in a July photo with Uganda First Deputy Prime Minister Rebecca Kadaga.

As Speaker of that country’s Parliament, she pushed through one of the world’s harshest laws against LGBTQ people in 2012 – penalties up to life imprisonment for engaging in same-sex intimate acts.

Mamdani claims he wasn’t aware that the woman who requested a picture at the Uganda airport after he celebrated his nuptials to Rama Duwaji was responsible for enacting the law, but critics pointed out that Mamdani’s father knew her for years.

And then there was Mamdani’s visit to the Brooklyn mosque of imam Siraj Wahhaj, where he appeared with him in another picture. Wahhaj is listed by prosecutors as an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed six people, including a pregnant woman, and injured more than 1,000 others. It was a precursor to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that brought down the buildings, murdering nearly 3,000. People are still dying today from illnesses resulting from the terrorism.

Mamdani is a proud member of the Democratic Socialists of America party. Now, the DSA’s New York City chapter appears to have some Israel-hating orders its members expect their famous card-carrier to obey.

The dozen demands of the NYC-DSA’s “Anti-War Working Group” include ending all city contracts with companies doing business with Israel, withdrawing all funds from banks lending money to the Jewish state, banning the sale of Israeli products from the city-run supermarkets Mamdani wants to open and arresting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and active members of the Israel Defense Forces for “war crimes.”

Antisemites and scoundrels. Anti-feminists. An LGBTQ-basher and a suspected mass-murder plotter. If Zohran Mamdani is not to be judged by those close to him, he must denounce these reprehensible creatures.
