The husband of a former Miss Switzerland finalist has officially been charged with murder after authorities allege he strangled the woman to death and blended up her remains.
The 43-year-old Swiss man, whose name is being withheld, was charged with murder and disturbing the peace in Basel-Landschaft Criminal Court, the Basel-Landschaft public prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
The charges are related to the February 2024 killing of his 38-year-old wife at their shared home in Binningen, prosecutors said. They also did not name the victim, but she has been identified in local reports as Kristina Joksimovic.
According to the BBC, which cited Swiss outlet 20min, the victim is referred to as KJ and described as a 2007 Miss Switzerland finalist.
The suspect allegedly previously told police he came home to find her dead but admitted the following month that he killed her in self defense, per local outlet bzbasel, 20min and The Telegraph, which cite court filings. However, he wasn’t officially charged in connection with her death until this month.

An autopsy report indicated that the suspect allegedly dismembered Joksimovic using a jigsaw and garden shears, before slicing up the remains and dissolving them in a blender, 20min and radio FM1 Today reported. The report further stated that the remains were “pureed” and dissolved in a chemical.
Police said the pair shared two children. It’s unclear if the suspect has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf. Per prosecutors, the suspect is in custody but his next court date is unknown.
According to her Instagram profile, Joksimovic primarily worked as a modeling coach and often shared catwalk training videos of herself and clients.
