“This year’s Music City Drop showed the incredible spirit of Nashville,” said Adam Lowy, Executive Director of Move For Hunger. “From participants to sponsors, everyone came together to make a statement — hunger is a problem we can solve, and it starts with community.”
This year’s event also included a snack pack activation, meaning more than 1,000 additional meals were assembled by volunteers.

“We have seen record demand every day. Food banks are reaching out to us saying ‘We need help,'” added Lowry.
The snack kits, which featured food donations from Kroger, Dollar General, and Rice Krispies Treat, were delivered to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee on Nov. 19, just one day after the Drop event.

Plus, to help make the holiday season extra sweet, an additional truckload of Rice Krispies Treats bars also accompanied the delivery to the food bank.
“I’m rappeling for hunger today because more than 47 million Americans are facing hunger every day,” says Denine Torr, vice president of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility for Dollar General.
Even the Nashville Predators’ mascot Gnash was brave enough to take on the 20-story drop!
