The ex-wife of a truck driver found dead inside the sleeper cab of his semi-truck in the Utah desert has now been charged with his murder.
Authorities allege that Jatinder Kaur Purewal encouraged Jaswinder Singh Dhillon to kill her ex-husband Jaspinder Singh in 2024, according to KUTV, KSL and ABC4.
According to Tooele County jail records, Purewal is being held on charges of aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping and obstruction of justice. It is not immediately clear if she has entered a plea as of Friday, Dec. 12.
Dhillon was arrested and charged with aggravated murder and aggravated kidnapping in 2024, according KUTV and FOX 13. Jail records indicate he is being held without bond.
KUTV, ABC4 and KSL, citing court records, reported that authorities alleged that Purewal had made previous threats to kill Singh. According to the outlets, authorities alleged in charging documents that Purewal’s daughter said “her mother was very capable of killing her dad.”
Purewal’s daughter further told police that she has a restraining order against her mother, according to ABC4.
Per KUTV, Singh was found dead in his truck with his hands bound and stab wounds to his neck and lower extremities in September 2024. Investigators said that before his death, Singh was being followed by a car for at least 300 miles, the outlet reported. That car was reportedly found later in Washington state, where Dhillon was arrested.

Further, KSL reported, citing court documents, that Purewal is married to a man that is not Dhillon.
Purewal was booked into jail in Utah on Dec. 3, 2025, according to jail records. She was initially arrested in California before being extradited, per the outlet.
