For Kamie Crawford, all she needs on her wedding day is her mother.
While chatting with PEOPLE at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards at The Plaza Hotel in New York City on Tuesday, Nov. 4, the former Catfish: The TV Show host, 33, opened up about wedding planning, and revealed that her one must-have is her mother, Carla Crawford.
“Honestly, I think my biggest, greatest weapon is gonna be my mom. I’ve been saying if she could be my matron of honor for my wedding, that would be perfect because she just knows, she has an eye,” Kamie says, noting that they’re already touring wedding venues together.

Kamie, who announced her engagement to her fiancé, whose name has not yet been released and who she refers to online as “Wizard Kelly,” on Sept. 28, says that she’s “thinking about Fall 2026” for her wedding date, and is “so excited” to tie the knot.
“I didn’t realize how insane the bridal era is,” the model tells PEOPLE. “Like, I posted about getting engaged and next thing I knew — literally within an hour — I had bridal people in my inbox hitting me up, offering me dresses. And I feel so like, oh my God, they’re gonna make this easy for me.”
The bride-to-be admits that while she was “surprised” when the proposal happened, she “had a feeling” that she and her fiancé would be getting engaged this year.
“I was hyperventilating when he got down but I was not surprised that I didn’t have my roots done or my nails done,” she says with a laugh. “I was prepared, and at the same time… not prepared.”
Kamie announced her engagement to her fiancé on Instagram on Sept. 28, sharing 15 photos from the romantic proposal in New York City.
“Hard Launch: The Wizard & I… Forever 🥹💍🥂🤍 9.27.25,” she captioned the post.
The next day on Sept. 28, she posted a video flashing her new diamond ring, writing, “SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP. SHE’S A FIANCÉ YALL!!!! 😭🥂💍🤍👰🏽♀️ I love my man. I love my family. I love my friends. I love my life. I’m so beyond grateful & excited for this new chapter!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR THE LOVE AND BLESSINGS!!!! 🥹🤍 #engaged #proposal #bridetobe.”
On the Oct. 13 episode of her podcast, Relationsh*t with Kamie Crawford, Kamie shared details of the special night, remembering seeing a table with a “giant bouquet of red roses and champagne on ice” and “candles, white flowers, gorgeous set up outside on the deck” with “360 views of the entire city.”

“It was so magical. It was the perfect night,” she said. “The weather was perfect. The lights were twinkling. Like, it looked like a f—— Christmas tree. It looked like an advertisement for New York City. And then I make a full circle and I see my man getting down on one knee.”
At that moment, she recalled, “I’m looking at this man and we both have tears in our eyes — but I’m not immediately crying. I’m more just in awe of everything that is happening and the fact that this is like my dream proposal. I wanted an intimate proposal.”

The podcaster noted that she’s been dreaming of walking down the aisle since childhood. Her fiancé, who she met on the dating app Raya, is exactly who she always hoped for, “and then some.”
“This is what I’ve been waiting for my whole life,” Kamie said of what she was thinking during the engagement. “And since I met this man, since I first laid eyes on him, this is like the moment that I’ve been waiting for.”
“And I sobbed for three days straight,” she added. “I just stopped sobbing, which is why I’m not sobbing talking about it right now because I have literally cried every tear out of my eyeballs that is even possible.”
