Salvation Army Bell Ringer Allegedly Tried to Impale Publix Manager with Kettle Pot Tripod: Police

A Florida man working as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army was arrested after allegedly attempting to stab the manager of the Publix supermarket he was standing in front of.
Steven Pavlik was allegedly intoxicated while fulfilling his role as a bell ringer outside of a Publix in Martin County, Fla., on Wednesday, Dec. 24. Pavlik, 63, was stationed at a Salvation Army collection site near a Publix located on Kanner Highway, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
“When the Publix manager came outside to speak to Pavlik, he became violent and attempted to impale the manager with the donation kettle tripod,” the MCSO said in a statement. “Thankfully the manager was not injured.”
“Pavlik then fled the scene, but deputies later located him at his residence, where he was taken into custody,” the MSCO added, confirming he was booked into Martin County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
