From All’s Fair to Matlock, it’s obvious we can’t get enough of watching courtroom dramas in 2025.
On October 12, the top-rated CBS series, Matlock, returned to our screens with a second season. The spinoff of the original series that starred Andy Griffith features Kathy Bates as the series protagonist, who, not to mention, has a stacked lineup under her acting belt: Titanic, American Horror Story, and Fried Green Tomatoes, in addition to her Oscar-winning turn in Misery.
In the CBS series, Kathy plays Madeline “Matty” Matlock, a former lawyer who leaves her tenured career behind (and undercover) to step down to a junior associate role at a prestigious law firm in NYC. But it’s for a good cause—to avenge her daughter’s death.
We’ve gotten to see Matty’s continued fight against corruption every Thursday night within Season 2. But will the fight continue this Thursday night? Keep reading to find out.
Is Matlock On Tonight?
Nope! CBS is pausing on a new episode of Matlock this week. In its place will be a college basketball game between Duke and Arkansas at 8:00 p.m.
When Does The New Episode of Matlock Season 2 Air?
The legal drama will actually be back next week, on Thursday, December 4, at 9 p.m. ET and will be available to stream next day on Paramount+.
