Cardi B Casts Her Umbilical Cord into Gold Jewelry After Giving Birth

Cardi B has found a unique way to commemorate her baby’s birth.

After giving birth to her fourth baby, her first with boyfriend Stefon Diggs, the rapper, 33, decided to commemorate her birth by casting a piece of her umbilical cord into gold chrome. Cardi enlisted Mommy Made Encapsulation for their Umbilical Cord Keepsake to create the special memento, PEOPLE can confirm.

According to the company’s website, the keepsake is the baby’s “umbilical cord dehydrated in the shape of a heart and then dipped in gold chrome.” Purchasing the stylized and preserved cord is $50, but the company also offers a $500 Placenta Encapsulation Service, which converts a woman’s placenta into pills.

In a video shared by the company, someone can be seen forming the mom of four’s keepsake. Another video shows that Cardi also opted for a placenta print, which is another service the company offers.

Alongside Cardi B, the brand claims to have made umbilical cord keepsakes for celebrities like Megan Fox and Vanessa Hudgens.

On Nov. 19, the “I Like It” rapper shared the first photos on Instagram of her newborn baby boy, whose name has not yet been revealed. The newly minted mom of four could be seen cradling her son in a nursery in one photo, as the little one slept soundly in a New England Patriots cap and onesie – a nod to boyfriend Diggs, 31, who plays wide receiver for the team.

Cardi also included a photo of herself, Diggs and their baby in the hospital room right after giving birth. Her baby boy’s face was blurred in the picture. She could also be seen snuggling with her baby, and included a close-up snap of him in his adorable onesie.

“11/4 🧸🩶🏈,” Cardi wrote in her caption, revealing her son’s birthday.

The new addition is Cardi’s first child with Diggs. She is also mom to daughters Kulture and Blossom, as well as son Wave, with ex Offset.

 Diggs is also dad to two daughters, Nova and Charliee.

The rapper first confirmed in an interview on CBS Mornings that aired on Sept. 17 that she was pregnant with her fourth child.

“I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” Cardi told anchor Gayle King in a pre-taped interview.

Responding to King’s messages of congratulations, Cardi — born Belcalis Almánzar — expressed her thanks and shared, “I’m excited.”

Cardi and Diggs have been linked since October 2024. In May 2025, the pair made their first public appearance together at a Boston Celtics and New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, after months of attending the same events, but arriving separately.

Until that moment, Cardi had dodged the relationship rumors. She avoided similar speculation about her pregnancy — something she explained to King on CBS Mornings was a deliberate choice.

“I just was like, ‘Can I just say it on my own time?’ Like, I’m not hiding,” Cardi said. “On my time, on my own terms. Let me close some deals first, you know what I’m saying? Let me close some deals first. And it’s like, you don’t really want to say right way that you’re pregnant. It’s like, ‘Let me see a couple of more sonograms. Let my baby be healthy.'”
